| Interesting question, Steph, but no clue here. Although interested in horses generally, I shrug at the number the guys rode and couldn't identify any of them. Sorry. _________________ Fast is fine, but accuracy is everything. ~ Wyatt Earp

| Sorry, WichitaRed. We see Heyes ride quite a lot more horses. I would be interested to know which sorrel mare you mean. I was sure all horses were geldings. :-) _________________ "I can resist everything - except temptation" Oscar Wilde For me temptation is Hannibal Heyes, especially in chaps!

| Uhm, I hate to ask, but what is the answer?
I'm not a horse person, so couldn't possibly begin to figure this out.

| I have counted at least 11 different horses:
- Clay (a claybank dun) looks almost like a sorrel or chestnut, has two white markings on his face: a star shaped almost like one of Heyes' silver hatband ornaments in reverse on his forehead and a snip near the nostrils); appears mostly in season 2 - a chestnut with a straight narrow blaze that sort of points upward; he rides this horse in most of the season 1 episodes, e.g. the pilot or the picture at the top of the forum website - a chestnut with a narrow blaze that is sickle-shaped at the top; he rides it very shortly in the pilot (when they drag the safe back up the mountain; the rest of the episode the marshal rides it. ;-) ) and he can be seen on it again in Journey to San Juan when they ride into El Clavo's camp - a chestnut with a broad blaze; he rides it in Root of it all and Journey from San Juan - a chestnut with a very faint star; in Wrong train to Brimstone and Posse (when riding behind Bridget) - a palomino-coloured heavy horse in Legacy of Charley O'Rourke - a buckskin in Something to get hung about - a black(ish) horse with a broad blaze in Santa Marta - a dark bay at the end of Shootout at Diablo Station - a black (or very dark bay?) horse together with Kid in Posse that wouldn't quit - a bay (brown?) horse he borrowed from the coach in Root of it all
Anyone remember another horse? Only for Heyes = Pete Duel (sorry RD) _________________ "I can resist everything - except temptation" Oscar Wilde For me temptation is Hannibal Heyes, especially in chaps!

| I'll try kickstarting this again. Maybe some of our newer members would like to try this?
I've heard that the names Smith and Jones might have been inspired by a remark in a certain movie. Any ideas which movie it was?
Extra points if you know the scene. _________________ "I can resist everything - except temptation" Oscar Wilde For me temptation is Hannibal Heyes, especially in chaps!

| okay, I have to ask... was it Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid? I hate trying the "way too obvious" but I'm not sure it could even be the right answer (it's been awhile since I've seen the movie ) | |

| Yay! An answer. And the right one! Well done, Caroline McK! It is indeed "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid". I've read that in the scene before Butch and Sundance rob a bank in Bolivia, one of them says to the other something like "I'm Smith and you're Jones". If that was indeed the inspiration for the aliases, it might also have inspired the gag of them not being able to keep their aliases straight in the Brimstone train. Ok, Caroline. It's up to you now to pose a new question. _________________ "I can resist everything - except temptation" Oscar Wilde For me temptation is Hannibal Heyes, especially in chaps!

| Oh, S3, I so hate to disappoint, but I don't know of any trivia questions associated with ASJ . I hate to dream one up, because I might not come up with the correct answer. Would you mind terribly if someone else asks? And does anyone else have a question they would like to volunteer? | |

| Okay, I finally found a question...
In the opening credits, there is a scene of a train being boarded by "robbers" (my word). Does anyone know where this scene came from? It is a Universal movie.
