Okay. I have been busy researching publishers and literary agents. I'm becoming more and more convinced that the best route to take is to self-publish and do e-books but I still want to investigate publishing houses if only to get their opinion if nothing else.
First up, most of them ask for a sample of the manuscript. Some want just the first 20 pages which means an instant re-write in order to take it away from Alias Smith and Jones. But others ask for a sample of my choice. Any ideas as to what chapters or scenes in TOF best illustrates what the story is about, or best shows off the writing style?
Some others simply want a proposal from me and a short description of what my story is about. Again, any suggestions would be welcome.
I'm going to have to come up with a literary history for myself and what it is that makes my story so special. Yikes.
Time to set aside the insecurities and dazzle them with my brilliance.
