PostSubject: A friend's passing   Sun Dec 13, 2015 8:19 pm

For those of you who missed this on chat today.  I was drawn away from the discussion by and phone call from Marla, the barn manager.  Her elderly Arab, Zultan, coliced over night and had to be put down this morning.  This is Marla, laying on a tarp in the pouring rain, in order to stay with him while they waited for the vet.  The bay horse, with the bit of white on his forehead, is my boy, Monty.  He and Zultan were buddies, and he refused to leave Zultan's side throughout the whole duration.  Notice, in the one picture, Monty is actually licking him.  This is the second horse that Marla has had to put down this week, in totally unrelated incidences.  She's heartbroken.

So sad, but there is something very touching about these pictures.  The care Monty shows is lovely.

Heartbreaking, but beautiful in the care.  Sorry to hear.

Another demonstration that animals feel the same kind of emotions we do. So sorry for everyone's loss. Anyone who says animals are not members of the family are 100% wrong.

So sad, but the care taken, and Monty's obvious affection for his friend is lovely to see.
