Thanks NW! I'm glad you like the beadwork.
Once I'm really into it, I tend to zone out (or in?), I don't notice much of what is going on around me, including time. That's not really patience. Unfortunately I cannot force myself to do beadwork - I've tried it and it looks horrible and I have to take it apart again. I really need to feel in the mood. That's why one legging was done in only two weeks. The second one took over two months...
"Zoning out" came in useful during English classes for my work training, which were geared towards those with the least knowledge of English. In our case two lovely girls from Russia, who had never heard a word of English before in their lifes. I got so bored! And started nagging the teacher with questions, occasionally correcting him (he was from North Africa and spoke far better French than English...). Once I suggested I could do beadwork instead, we were all happy. I think one of the moccasin was done mostly in class. lol

I've now started making jewellery with beads.
Here are some of my attempts.
First a necklace:

A pair of earrings I made for wearing with one of my favourite outfits (the red-orange-yellow-green skirt and green top I wear in the pictures with Nancy Whiskey).

And my latest attempt at earrings: peacock earrings.

Amazing work.  They're all fantastic, but I think the necklace is stunning.

And my latest pair of earrings. Done in peyote stitch.

I think I mentioned at a few chats that I want to improve my photo skills.

For horse photography, I attempt to not take just another picture of just another horse.

During a photo class at Cumbrian Heavy Horses, the photographer Simon Palmer tasked us to find
- ways of capturing the personality of the horse by concentrating on a body part
- let a part of the horse speak for the whole
- capture what is typical of a horse/breed
- show the beauty of a horse by capturing certain aspects of it
- take a picture of something unexpected

Here are some attempts from last weekend of following his advice:

I'd love to hear if/what the pictures invoke in you.
What is your impression of my "model"?
Am I totally conceited - or do you like such pictures (or at least find them interesting)?

I particularly love the one of the eye, but they're all great.

I love the neck lace, you did. That's beautiful.

The photographs are nice, but I've seen all these angles before. Try to find something unique. I know it's not easy. The eye, of course, is popular, so therefore, it has been done a lot. Maybe go for just the ears, or the underbelly, or Ohh, a shot from hock level, from back to front. Especially if the horse has his head down, and is grazing. Maybe an over-head shot. Get on a ladder or something, and shoot down on the horse. Some really interesting angles there.

Ps: Are any of your necklaces for sale? I think I would like one of them.
