Oh no! Mary Sue! Empty
PostSubject: Oh no! Mary Sue!   Oh no! Mary Sue! EmptyThu Oct 02, 2014 9:12 am

On chat this week the question came up of what exactly is a Mary Sue (an unrealistically perfect female character) and how does one know if one has written one.  There's a lot of literature on-line about Mary Sue and her male counterpart , Marty Stu, but I thought folks might find it useful to have a link to some of the "tests" you can take to see if you've created a Mary Sue.

The Universal Mary Sue Litmus Test

The Writer's Mary Sue Test

Mary Sue Test (University of North Carolina)

Hope folks find these useful.

Thank you Riders! I'll make sure to check the links.  Very Happy
