PostSubject: Possible Email Phishing Scam   Sun Sep 28, 2014 11:16 pm

Hi all,

I'm not sure if this is the right place to put this. (Sorry if it's not Map. I'll move it if need be.)

I got an email this evening supposedly from this board. But when I opened it, it said that someone here had left me a message through IQ Elite and there was a link to click on. I came here to see if I had any messages and didn't. So I googled IQ Elite and it appears to be a phishing scam to get access to your email. Just wanted to warn anyone that may receive something similar.

HH

Thanks for posting, Hanna.  I got the same email but did have a PM here.  I clicked on the link and was taken to a page that had nothing to do with this site so left quickly.  Has this site been hacked?  Otherwise, how would our email addresses have been exposed?

Also, any sites I access on Forumotion have been very slow to load the last couple of days.  Was thinking it was maintenance issues again.  Hope the two aren't related.

I hope they aren't related either. Maybe not. You never know where those heathens might steal your email address from.

The forum has not been hacked according to the Help Forum. I would think that the addresses have been obtained by someone's email and taken from their address book as not all members have had them the best advice is to ignore and delete.

I too received one right after I left a PM on this board, so be careful.

When I checked my email today there was an email claiming to be from this board. I immediately deleted it without opening or reading.

I just had to follow a web-course from work how to be alert and act towards these e-mails. I had one too and followed Stepha3nies lead.
