Hi yall

This is a piece I did for a friend, the photo does not do it justice, but it still conveys the mood of the piece.  It is of a cathedral that he can spot from his window.  It is a nice evocative little landscape.

I have been painting/drawing a lot recently for a commission and have been really enjoying myself.  I always get messy, covered in paint and look like a large toddler (great fun)...  so I will be posting a few new pieces very, very soon.

Let me know what you think.

Hi, the above is a traditional celtic knot that I re-created.  It is just a bit of fun, but once you start following one thread you just keep going...

This cartoon is very silly, but I can't help smiling.  After all, don't we all know a fella like that?

This is an abstract piece I did for my brother-in-law's birthday.

Trust me, it suits him, and was very therapeutic to do.

Thanks Hannah

The knot works looks good on some leather work, or using acrylic paint on a nicely grained bit of wood.

But at the moment, one of my favourites is the abstract piece.  It's not meant to 'mean' anything, look like anything, but every time I look at it, although minimalist, I still see something different.

It's fun, and I like to paint, where ever it takes me.

I will say this, I am a much better painter than I will ever be a writer!   Writing

I also very much like the intricacy and color of the Celtic knot.  The eye can just follow it ad infinitum.

Nancy, is that last abstract piece a painting?  It looks like a photograph.

Hi Remuda

The abstract black/white geometric piece is white acrylic paints on black, heavy duty card.  It is set in a deep frame to give it a 3D quality.

It was also a right pain in the neck to photograph, as due to the reflections every time I took a photo of it you could see my ugly mug bouncing back out, (and I really would not wish that on anyone!)

I am working on some new pieces at the moment so watch this space.

This is one of my commissions.  I love it.  I know it is a bit squint, but trust me, it works in the frame.  It is about A2 size, so kinda large, but very funky.

Not the best photo, but this one is another commission, called strings.

This is fab, even though I do say so myself, the main guitar is of an iron based paint, so has a lot of texture to it, which affects the light that hits it.  It is also quite large, as it is A1 size.

Great fun to create.

Wow Nancy,

You have been very creative. I love the colors and the texture of the last piece you put up. And for the previous one you captured it very well with the title "strings". I bet you could do or have done a piece with "wood" as a theme as well? I always use to say that I choose the clarinet as my instrument because I feel connected to and inspired by trees/nature. Which is a bit odd, because you must cut the (rosewood) trees to...well...you see my dilemma ;-)
